Dark spots and pigmentation
Marks left by spots, sun spots and an uneven tone respond slowly but well to a consistent routine. Daily sunscreen matters most; a brightening serum helps marks fade over the following months.

How to choose
Sunscreen comes first
UV light deepens existing pigmentation and causes new spots. Without daily SPF 30 or higher, even the best serum makes little visible difference.
Brightening ingredients
Niacinamide, tranexamic acid (TXA), alpha-arbutin and vitamin C each support a more even-looking tone in their own way. Pick one serum, use it daily and only add a second product once you know how your skin reacts.
Expect weeks, not days
Marks after spots often fade over two to three months; older sun spots take longer. Take a photo in the same light every few weeks to see progress honestly.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use vitamin C and niacinamide together?
Yes, modern formulas combine them without problems. If your skin is sensitive, use them at different times of day.
Will a serum remove melasma?
Melasma is a hormone-related form of pigmentation that often returns. Skincare and strict sun protection can help, but have it assessed by your GP or a dermatologist.
When should a spot be checked?
Have a spot checked by your GP if it is new, grows, changes colour or shape, itches or bleeds. Brightening care is meant for harmless discoloration only.
