How to choose

Gel, emulsion or cream

Gel creams and emulsions feel light and suit oily, combination or humid summer skin. Creams with ceramides, squalane or shea butter give dry skin more comfort, particularly in winter.

Barrier-supporting ingredients

Ceramides, panthenol, glycerin and squalane are common in creams for dry or sensitive skin. They help the skin hold on to moisture.

Day and night

You can use the same cream morning and evening. Some people choose a lighter texture under sunscreen and something richer at night.

Frequently asked questions

What is an emulsion?

In Korean and Japanese routines an emulsion is a light, milky moisturiser between a toner and a cream. On its own it is often enough for oily skin.

Does oily skin need moisturiser?

Usually, yes. A light gel keeps skin comfortable without feeling heavy.

What is a sleeping mask?

A leave-on overnight layer used as the last step in the evening, either instead of or over your night cream.
