A cream-textured SPF 50+ option
The brand’s UK page identifies Rice + Niacinamide SPF50+ PA++++ and describes a creamy, lightweight texture. This is not its differently named US sunscreen.
An aloe sun cream to compare
This COSRX sun cream is labelled SPF50+ PA+++. Check your exact pack for directions and any water-resistance claim.
A European SPF 30 option
Bioré describes a lightweight SPF 30 moisturiser with hyaluronic acid. Check its specific formula and application directions.
Understand this concern
Look for broad-spectrum UVA/UVB protection and SPF 30 or higher. Check water resistance separately, and choose a texture you can apply generously and reapply as directed.
What to consider
Read more than the SPF number
The American Academy of Dermatology recommends broad-spectrum, water-resistant sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher for outdoor protection. Check the exact pack’s UVA and water-resistance information; do not assume a feature from the brand name.
Plan for reapplication
Follow the product label. Outdoors, reapply about every two hours and after swimming or sweating. A higher SPF is not permission to extend the time between applications.
Check the market version
Brands may sell different sunscreens under similar names in different countries. Match the full product name and ingredient list, and combine sunscreen with shade and protective clothing.
A little more clarity
How often should I reapply sunscreen?
When outdoors, reapply about every two hours and after swimming or sweating, following the label. A higher SPF does not remove the need to reapply. Use shade and protective clothing too.
Does an SPF in this selection mean it is water-resistant?
No. Water resistance is a separate label claim and must be checked on the exact product. Do not infer it from an SPF number or from inclusion in this guide.
Can an ordinary moisturiser replace sunscreen?
Only a product with the relevant sun-protection labelling can serve that role, used as directed. A hydrating serum or cream without SPF does not become sunscreen when layered with other products.
